MAC "Fuschia" Pigment

MAC „Fuschia“ is a bright fuschia pink with violett undertones and a frost finish that is available at MAC counters as it is part of their permanent range.
I have to admit that thus far I have rarely used it but when I did I paired it with purple and/or brown shades. I would especially give this pigment a shot if you have green eyes. You would be surprised how much it makes them pop!

Unfortunately MAC warns about using this product around the eye area because of a possible allergic reaction. If you don’t want to take the risk you can also try mixing a bit of “fuchsia” with a clear nail polish or lip gloss.
What do you think about "Fuschia"?

Monthly Empties: The "Back to MAC" Edition

I am sure you have heard about the “Back to MAC” program but if you haven’t let me quickly explain the idea behind it. If you return six empty containers to a MAC counter you get a free lipstick out of their permanent range (and in some countries even an eyeshadow or lipgloss).

Over the course of the last couple of months I was able to finish a little over 6 products. I am waiting until I reach 12 to go “Back to Mac” them but in the meantime let´s see what I have used up.

Creamsheen glass “Boy Bait” // wouldn’t repurchase
Here is the thing with MAC creamsheen glasses in general... Although I love the formula and the color range is beautiful, they only come with 1,7ml per bottle and cost about 20 Euros. Seriously? I am not going to spend that much money to get that little product (well at least not anymore). I wish I had known how much product was in there sooner. You can literally use one of these glosses in a couple of weeks. It goes super-fast.

Creamsheen glass “Just Superb” // wouldn’t repurchase
Same as above.

Lipgloss “C-Throu” // would repurchase
Loved it! It’s an amazing milky pinky nude shade. I typically find milky shade quite hard to find because most of them tend to be very sheer and don’t show up on your lips. This however is not the case with "C-Throu”. I think I even prefer this one over “Underage" lipgloss which is my ultimate favorite lipgloss.

Lipgloss “Love Nectar” // would repurchase
A beautiful peach lipgloss with fine golden glitter. Looove it!

Select Moisture Cover Concealer “NC15” // unsure
A good under eye concealer as it definitely didn’t dry out my under eye area. While I don’t have anything bad to say about it, as did its job perfectly, I think I prefer the MAC Prolong-wear concealer over this one due to the higher coverage (plus it has more content! (5ml vs. 9ml).

Mineralize Skinfinish Natural “NC25” // would repurchase
So far the best powder I have tried. Ever. I feel that the value for money is good as the powder lasts me for year. The coverage is rather sheer but you could build it up. What I like most about is the natural finish it gives. It doesn’t look caky at all, rather flawless. In summer I even skip the foundation and just use this (and some concealer).

Fix + // unsure
I am torn with regards to this product. I don’t think it’s an essential but I did like using it after applying my make-up to create a more natural look as it makes you look less caky after applying foundation and powder.

Penultimate Eyeliner // wouldn’t repurchase
I am not sure why exactly I got this eyeliner because I prefer to wear liquid eyeliner over a felt tip one. Anyway, I felt that after a while the tip lost it sharpness and it would become harder to draw any lines with it.

 Which lipstick(s) would you get?

MAC "Rushmetal" Pigment

MAC „Rushmetal“ is a vibrant bronze (orange) copper shade that is available in MAC´s permanent range. I really like how vibrant and metallic this shade looks on the eyes and paired with “reflects of bronze” it looks totally stunning. You should definitely try out that combo, you won´t be disappointed!

I see how this shade would particularly make blue eyes pop, but really it is such a versatile color that looks good on anyone.

MAC "Grape" Pigment

Grape is a shimmery deep rich purple shade with bluish undertones that is part of MAC permanent range. It´s a beautiful shade for a smoky purple eye make-up. I like to pair it with lighter purple tones and even something like a bright pink all over the lid and “Grape” in the crease. Granted this last look is not something I would wear during the daytime but perfect for a fun night out!

You should be aware that on the packaging it says that “Grape” is not safe to use around the eye area because there is a chance you might develop an allergic reaction to certain colorants used in it. I didn’t have any problems using it, but it may be something to keep in mind before purchasing it.
What do you think about “Grape”?

NotW: Deborah Lipmann "Today was a Fairytale"

Wow! I am truly amazed by the color/glitter pay off of this nail polish. I own many glittery nail polishes but none of them has this kind of luminosity. It almost looks like some kind of foil effect, because of the vibrant metallic effect. I absolutely love it! It´s the perfect color for a fun night out with the girls.

I got this nail polish at TK Maxx (one of my favorite bargain places) in a set of three which turned out to be on sale for 8 pounds (10 Euros, 12 Dollars). Talk about a good deal, right? Especially considering each bottle normally costs about 15 Pounds// 20 Euros// 25 Dollars. I don´t know whether I would pay the full price on one of these but if I had to pick one, this could definitely be it.

How to create this design:

1. Apply one coat of your favorite base coat.

2. Apply two coats of Deborah Lipmann’s “Today was a Fairytale”.

3. To make achieve a glossy look and make the polish stay even longer apply one coat of your favorite top coat (mine is Essence better than gel nails).

What do you think about this color? Yeay or nay?

MAC "Museum Bronze" Pigment

Over the course of this month I am going to share some swatches with you of the pigments that I own and enjoy using.
MAC “Museum Bronze”. is going to be the first one. I got this little "sample size" in a holiday set a couple of years ago but you can get a full size at your local MAC counter as it is in their permanent range.

It is described as a “rich taupe with gold pearl”. To me it looks more brown than taupe and the golden pearl seems more like a subtle golden sheen.
The pigment applies really nice wet and dry due to its smooth texture and has a metallic finish (especially when applied wet).

What do you think about “Museum Bronze”?
