Project Pan Questionnaire

I´ve seen this TAG go around the Project Pan community and beeing an eager panner myself I couldn´t wait to participate. So without further ado..here we go!

Why did you start Project Panning?
I wanted to downsize my collection. Throwing out a bunch of products to go out and keep buying even more, seemed pointless. Then I came across “Project Pan” and I like the idea about actually using up products and getting all your money worth out of it.

What is the most rewarding part of Project Panning?
Seeing that empty pan, definitely!

What is the most challenging part of Project Panning?
Not getting frustrated if you done see a progress. Honestly eyeshadows and blushes just take me forever to use up. In contrast concealers or lip-glosses go much faster. The trick is to keep going, look for inspiration and don’t forget your goal in mind. Maybe even take a short break that helps too.

How many Project Pans have you done? Do you plan on doing more?
I have been project panning since 2013 (here and here are my latest two) and I am not planning on stop anytime soon - there are still A LOT of products to be used.

Are you also doing any other projects in addition to Project Pan?
I am currently doing a Project Polish (here). In the past I did a “Finish 6 by Christmas” (here) and I am considering doing a “Pan that Palette”.

Do you limit your spending or go on a No Buy while on Project Pan?
Not officially. But I have noticed that because of “Project Pan” I am more aware of the products that I own and how much it takes me to use them up, so I think twice before buying things.

Who are your favorite Project Panners to watch?
My favorites are Megsmakeup8, PrettyPistol 86, Amber F. and Courtney K. ... but honestly there are so many amazing girls in the project pan community that I love to watch it´s hard to pick just a few.

What is your #1 tip for a successful Project Pan?
Have fun with it! There is no point in using an eyeshadow you hate for 6 months, just so that you use it up. If you don’t like a product at all, don’t be afraid to get rid of it.

What is your goal for your makeup collection through Project Panning?
Apart from downsizing it, I would say to get a better about what products work best for me (color, consistency).

Who do you tag to do this questionnaire next?
You!

If you decide to do this tag, please let me know in the comments I would love to read/watch it!

NotW: Maybelline "Tropink"

Finally spring has arrived and in order to celebrate such a joyous occasion I decided to dig out Maybelline“Tropink“. I absolutely loved this limited edition polish and was so happy I was able to get my hands on them before it was sold out. Trust me it was not easy. “Tropink” is a really nice bright pink color, perfect for summer and spring.

How to recreate this design:

1. Apply to coats of Maybelline “Tropink”

2. Once the polish has completely dried, stamp a flowery design on it. (I can’t remember where I got my stamping plate from, but I believe it was eBay)

3. Apply one coat of top coat and while this is still wet apply light green rhinestone and slightly press them on to your nails. I would recommend to do this nail by nail, as otherwise your top coat might dry before you have a chance to apply the rhinestones.

4. Add a second layer of your favorite top coat to secure your rhinestones and voilĂ , you´re done!

I hope you enjoyed this design!

Monthly Empties: The Project Pan Edition 2016

Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer in “010 Porcelain” // would repurchase
Loved it! Review coming soon!

Catrice “All Matt Plus” foundation in “010 Ivory” // would repurchase
Please find a review here.

Max Factor “False Lash Effect” mascara // would repurchase
I always find myself repurchasing this mascara. When they had an offer buy one get one free, I repurchased it.

Rival de Loop Eyeshadow base // might repurchase
I was looking for a drugstore eyeshadow base. While I like it better than the Essence eyeshadow base,, because the color matches my skin tone better I didn’t love the formula. It did keep my eyeshadow form creasing blending was rather difficult.

Urban Decay eyeliner in “Perversion // might repurchase
This was a great eyeliner. Super smooth and easy to blend, a jet black color and a good lasting power even on the waterline. If it weren’t for the price I would repurchase it immediately. If you are looking for a high-end eyeliner you should give this one a try.

Catrice eyeshadow in “Bring me frosted cake” // might repurchase
I am trying to go through my white/cream shades because I have sooo much. “Bring me frosted cake” was a good quality eyeshadow, easy so blend in and not too white if you know what a mean. A great under the eyebrow color. I could see myself repurchasing it, if it weren’t for the other 10 similar shades I want to use up.

Catrice eyebrowgel // might repurchase
I am not very picky when it comes to brow gel. All in all I like this one and I could see myself repurchasing it in the future.

MAC eye kohl “Smolder” // would not repurchase
It’s not worth the splurge. I am glad that I have finally finished it, as the product was really old (5 years?). I wouldn’t repurchase nor recommend it as I think there better or similar eyeliners for a fraction of the price out there.

Revlon lip butter in “Candy Apple” // would not repurchase
I really enjoy the Revlon lip butters. They have a great color payoff and feels very moisturizing on the lips. However they are a bit overpriced. “Candy Apple” was not the most flattering red shade on me, which is why I am happy to it empty.

Essence (LE) “Oz the great and powerful” highlighting powder // would not repurchase
I didn’t use it as a highlighting powder because I didn’t feel that this was at all highlighting. Instead I used it as a face powder. I am glad to see it gone though and actually start using a “real” face powder.

Worth about: ~48 Euros // $58

What make-up products have you used up recently?
