Project Pan Make-up Empties III

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. Since my last make-up empties post I have been collecting further items that I now want to share with you.
In case you wonder, some items are not shown in the picture above because I seem to have misplaced them, but I wrote my opinion on them down anyways in case it may help you with your purchase decision.

Catrice Liquid Eyeliner in “Dating Joe Black” // would repurchase
Please find a review here. Favorite drugstore liquid eyeliner.

Essence brow Gel “transparent” // would repurchase
Pretty much a staple in my collection. I do like to change things up every now and then but I always end up repurchasing this one. For under 2 euros there is nothing bad I can say about it. If you are looking for a super strong hold this might not be for you.

Manhattan Clearface Powder in “Sand” // might repurchase
Medium to high coverage. I liked this in combination with a light foundation as it gave it a bit more coverage. Applied on top of a medium to high coverage foundation this felt rather cakey.

Max Factor “False Lash Effect” Mascara // might repurchase (*missing in picture)
This used to be one of my favorite mascaras but know I find it a bit to dry. It does however make a great job at separating my lashes.

Lorac eyeshadow primer // might repurchase
Great eyeshadow primer that I might repurchase. Unfortunately you cant buy Lorac where I live.

Manhattan "Amazing Liner" Precise Eyeliner Pen // will not repurchase
At first I was really impressed because drawing a line with this liner was super easy (almost too easy) but then the pen dried out pretty fast and the black intensity could have been better. I used it about ten times and then I went back to my Catrice liquid eyeliner.

MAC Eyeshadow “Copperplate” // will not repurchase (*missing in picture)
I used this mainly to fill in my eyebrows. It was ok, but maybe a bit too expensive for that purpose.

MAC Eyesahdow “Brule” // will not repurchase (*missing in picture)
While I love MAC eyeshadows I don’t think I will be repurchasing this one. It was ok, but the color was so close to my skin tone that I could barely see it. Wet n´wilds crème Brule is a pretty good dupe for a lot less money.

Benefit “They´re real” Mascara Sample // will not repurchase (*missing in picture)
When I first started using this I must admit that I didn’t like it. However in Kombination with the Essence Princess lash mascara this worked amazing and this one, worked amazing. I would repurachse it though.. 20Euros is a bit too much.

Revlon Lipgloss in “Supernatural” // will not repurchase
A nice ligloss, but nothing else. It only has 3,7ml and for 9Dollars I find that a bit too much. The packing is really classy and the consistency feels nice and smooth on the lips. The color looked transparent on my lips though. I would try the NYX butter glosses instead.

Bobbi Brown Blush in Nectar” // will not repurchase
I love using up blushes. This one took quite a while actually but I did enjoy the color. I am so happy this is gone as it was getting pretty old.

Do you have any makeup empties?

The best liquid eyeliner from the drugstore!

Some like gels others prefer powders or pencils I love liquid eyeliners. While searching for the perfect liquid eyeliner I have tried a lot of them out and ended up falling in love with the Catrice “liquid eyeliner” in “01 Dating Joe Black”. In fact I love this so much I have repurchased it probably 10 times over the last 3 years.

Here is why:

- The felt tip is not too soft nor too rigid, making it very easy to draw a precise wing in seconds

- The black is an intense semi matt jet black, no need to layer the product

- The liner lasts all day. Obviously this is not a waterproof version, hence if it rains or if your eyes get wet it will smudge. For everyday wear however, it’s perfect

- The value for money is amazing. Compared to high end liquid eyeliners that I have tried and liked, this one is a steal as it retails for 3,45 € for 1,7ml (Urban Decay Liquid Liner retails for 1,7ml for 20,00 Euros; Mac Superslick Eyeliner 1,8ml for 22 Euros and Kat Van D Tattoo Liner 0,7ml for 20,00 Dollars)

If you are looking for a liquid eyeliner I can honestly recommend you the Catrice “liquid eyeliner” in “01 Dating Joe Black”. It’s been my go-to eyeliner for the last two maybe even three years (like you can see in some make-up empties posts here, here and here). Its super easy to use, I love the precise tip and the value for money couldn’t be better.

Seriously if you haven’t tried it out thus far, you need to go get it!

Have you tried the Catrice “liquid eyeliner”?
How did you like it?

BUY or SKIP: Balea "Reinigungsöl" Cleansing Oil

I am a big fan of cleansing oils. I used to take off my makeup with wipes but ever since I discovered the magic of oils I have been a big fan. Naturally when I heard about the Balea one (available at the German drugstore "dm") I had to give it a try.

FACTS

Price: 2,50 €

Contains: 100ml

Available at: dm

SKIP or BUY ?

If you are looking for a cleansing oil that offers a good value for money, then look no further you have found one, BUY! This is the cheapest cleansing oil I have tried thus far and I must admit that it works just as well as more expensive ones.

The product has no alcohol, conservatives or perfumes, perfect for those of you who have a sensitive skin. BUY!

If you like cleansing oils but hate that blurriness just after taking your make-up off, then give this one a try (BUY!). I honestly had no problems with the oil getting into my eyes and causing that blurry effect that I have had with other ones.

As the product has 100ml it is very convenient for travelling, BUY! What I love about it, is that it removes all of your make-up you don´t need to pack any additional products with you.

A little note on the side: If you are wearing a heavy eye makeup or waterproof mascara you might need to use a bit more product. I don’t mind that at all, because for 2,50 € I don’t mind having to use a bit more product (I usually use 5-6 pumps then to get the job done).

Check out my other reviews on cleaning oils here and here.

BUY or SKIP: Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation

After seeing this foundation on so many YouTube channels and blogs I knew that whenever I got the opportunity I would want to try this foundation out. Well, the opportunity presented itself a couple of months ago and I was able to purchase the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation in “105 Classic Ivory”.

FACTS

Price: $8

Shades: Available in twelve shades (mine is “105 Classic Ivory”)

Contains: 30ml

Available at: Drugstores

SKIP or BUY?

If you want a budget friendly foundation that applies easily and blends well then you should BUY.

If you are a fan of a dewy finish, then you should BUY it.

If you have fair skin and a yellow undertone, you might want to SKIP this foundation as the foundation tends to oxidize and look slightly orange. Hence it won’t match your skin tone perfectly.

It might be difficult to find the right shade as there are only twelve available so if you are not a fan of mix and match then you should SKIP it.

If you want a medium coverage able to conceal redness then you should give it a try and BUY it.

If you want a super long-lasting foundation you might want to SKIP this foundation. I personally can wear it for about 6-8 hours before it wears off. However if you use a primer and setting spray, well then problem solved.

Plus Points: I personally prefer a foundation that comes with a pump or like it is in this case a squeeze tube, as I find the application to be more hygienic and mess-free.

Will you be buying or skipping “Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation”?

BUY or SKIP: Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation

FACTS

Price: $14.00

Shades: Available in sixteen shades (mine is “150 Buff”)

Content: 23.7 ml

Available at: Drugstores

The moment I heard about this foundation I wanted to try it out. My only problem was that it is not available in Europe (at least I have not been able to find it anywhere). On my last holiday I was able to get a hold of it and finally try it out. After having used it for a couple months I would like to share my thoughts with you.

BUY or SKIP?

If you like a medium coverage with the possibility to build it up to full then BUY. Be aware to use a light hand if you do build it up as otherwise it can look very cakey.

If you don’t like bulky packaging, SKIP. Although the glass container makes the product appear more luxurious, it is a pain to travel with as it is quite heavy and not as hygienic as a pump or tube dispenser would be.

If you like a mouse like texture with a rather matt/velvet finish, that feels lightweight on your skin, then BUY.

Due to the matt finish, the foundation has the tendency to be rather dry. So if you have problems with dry skin (or dry patches on your skin) you might want to SKIP it. If you have dry skin and want to give this foundation a shoot anyway, try to use it over summer.

If you want a long lasting foundation, then BUY. I would say that the foundation lasts about 8 hours without a problem. If you put a primer underneath and add some fixing spray it lasts even longer.

Will you BUY or SKIP this foundation?

BUY or SKIP: Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer

The drugstore is full of concealers, some of them are really good and others unfortunately not so much. Today I want to introduce to you the “Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer”.

FACTS

Shade: “010 Porcelain” (3 Shades available)

Price: ~ 3,45 Euros // ~ 5,99 Dollars

Content: 5ml

Available at: drugstores

Application: Doe foot applicator

BUY or SKIP

If you are looking for a creamy, lightweight texture that applies and blends easily then BUY.If you want a medium coverage that covers redness and under eyes circles nicely then BUY.

If however you want a concealer that covers blemishes and tattoos SKIP. Instead go for the Catrice camouflage cream as that one has a higher coverage. If you are looking for a scent free product, SKIP. I didn´t mind the fruity scent at all but if you have sensitive skin then this product might not be for you.

If you want a concealer that doesn’t run into your fine lines, then BUY. I am very picky regarding this issue and so far (after 4 months of using it) have had no problems with it. Thumbs up!

If you want a concealer that doesn’t oxidize on your skin, then you should SKIP. Under the eyes, were I mainly use this concealer, I have not noticed the oxidation as much as on other areas of my face. As I only use it for under the eyes I dont mind it!

I hope this helps you on your decision on whether to BUY or SKIP the “Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer”.

BUY or SKIP: Catrice „All Matt Plus“ Foundation

Facts

Content: 30ml

Range: 4-5 shades (Europe: currently 4 shades // US: currently 5 shades)

Available: At the drugstore

If you want an creamy, easy to blend, lightweight foundation and a good value for money, BUY.

If you are looking for a light to medium coverage you should BUY. If you are looking for a full-coverage foundation please SKIP.

If you have yellow toned fair skin, BUY. If you have a darker or rosy tone complexion you might want to SKIP. Unfortunately the range is pretty small which is why finding the right shade might be pretty tricky.

If you have problems with dry patches or generally dry skin ..SKIP! The foundation has the habit of accentuating dry areas.

If you are looking for a satin-matt finish, BUY! If you want a complete matt look, SKIP!

If you are looking for a long wearing foundation, SKIP! If you are fine with the foundation fading after about 6-8hours BUY! (Note that the fading is not patchy or flakey)

PLUS POINTS: I am not really sure whether having a pump dispenser is a SKIP or BUY criteria but is definitely a big plus point! I prefer foundations that have a pump, because it makes application so much easier.

Review: Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

QUICK FACTS

Color: Blackest Black

Content: 9,5ml

Price: ~ 8 Pounds; ~ 10 Euros; ~ 9 Dollars

Where to buy? Drugstores

I am always on the hunt for a mascara that separates and defines my lashes while providing some volume. So when Maybelline launched the “Lash Sensational Mascara” I decided to give it try and see how I like the product. I have been using this mascara for the last three months and have to say I feel a bit torn about it.

The “Ink Formula” of the Lash Sensational Mascara can be described as wet, almost gel alike. I find that the brush picks up a bit too much of the product making it a bit hard to obtain those nice defined lashes. Wiping off some of the product before applying it or using a lash comb afterwards definitely helps but I feel the formula could be a tat more dry. After a while of using of course the product dries out a bit more but the gel-like-consistency makes it slightly clumpy to use.

Apart from that the mascara does not smudge or flake at all which is always great as panda eyes do not look flattery (on me) at all.

I find the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara to be a stable drugstore mascara that might be worth the shot trying. The perception of a mascara always depends on the user. Personally I don’t find it to be a life changing product nor something I see myself repurchasing in the future but I don´t regret purchasing it.

Have you tried the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara? How did you like it?

BUY or SKIP? MAC Dazzleglass Creme

QUICK FACTS

Price: ~ £17,50 // ~ €19,50 // ~ $20,00

Shade: “Soft Dazzle” Limited Edition

Content: 3ml

Available at: MAC counters or online

BUY or SKIP?

If you like sparkly lip glosses this is a definitive BUY!
After the lip gloss has worn off, you will see some golden glitter remaining on your lips if you don´t mind that, BUY! If you do, SKIP!

If you want to get a great value for money then you should SKIP this product. £5,83 // €6,50 // $6,60 for 1ml is ridiculous! As a reference you pay ~£2,90 // ~€3,60// ~ $3,00 per 1ml for a normal MAC tinted lip glass. A great (and cheaper) alternative are MAC Lipgelees they have 15ml! and are just as glittery, less expensive and leave no glitter residue on your lips.

If you want a smooth and easy application, SKIP. My brush applicator has hairs pointing in pretty much every direction. Furtermore as the texture is quite thick I have to be fairly careful when applying it.

Would you BUY or SKIP MAC Dazzleglass cremes?
